Kelly Sue DeConnick (born July 15, 1970) is an American comic book writer and editor and English-language adapter of manga. She is writing the series ''Captain Marvel'' and ''Avengers Assemble'' for Marvel Comics, as well as ''Ghost'' for Dark Horse Comics and her creator owned ''Pretty Deadly'' for Image Comics. ==Career== Kelly Sue DeConnick's first published comic book story was a five-page text story published in ''CSI: Crime Scene Investigations - Dominos'' #5 (Dec. 2004). She wrote the ''Osborn'' limited series in 2011 which was drawn by Emma Ríos. She was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Writer in 2014 for her ''Pretty Deadly'' series. In response to the announcement of a ''Captain Marvel'' movie, DeConnick said "I feel so proud of her, like Carol is this person who lives in my head, and 'look what you did, girl!'" and "It feels like a friend just got a promotion."
